Hunter Douglas & PowerView details

Signs you need this repair

  • Shade will not go up, down or stay where you put it
  • Motorized shade stopped responding to the remote or app
  • Shade moves partway, stutters or makes a grinding noise
  • Cord is frayed, snapped or hanging loose
  • Slats will not tilt, or the wand spins freely

Broken Cord & Lift System Repair

The lift cord does the hardest work in a blind or shade, and it is the part most likely to fail. A cord can fray, snap, slip out of the cord lock, or end up uneven so the shade hangs crooked.

We restring and repair lift systems on corded blinds and shades, adjust the cord lock, and level the headrail so it lifts evenly and holds its position.

Signs you need this repair

  • Cord snapped or pulled out of the headrail
  • Blind hangs crooked or one side will not lift
  • Cord lock will not grip, so the blind drops on its own
  • Cord stuck, tangled or jammed inside the headrail
  • Pull cord or loop is frayed or broken

Tilt Mechanism & Wand Repair

On horizontal blinds the tilt mechanism opens and closes the slats so you can control light and privacy. When it gives out, the blind is stuck open, stuck closed, or only half works.

We diagnose whether it is the wand, the gear or the tilt rod and repair it on site, so the slats rotate smoothly and stay at the angle you choose.

Signs you need this repair

  • Wand spins but the slats do not move
  • Slats only tilt one direction or are stuck closed
  • Tilt wand has broken off or come loose
  • Slats are uneven, twisted or out of sync
  • Tilting is stiff, clicking or skipping

Motorized Shade Troubleshooting & Repair

Motorized shades add a lot of convenience, and a lot of places for a small problem to hide: the motor, the battery, the remote, the wiring or the connection to your hub or app.

We troubleshoot step by step so you are not guessing. We test power, battery, motor and remote, find the real cause, and repair it on site where we can.

Signs you need this repair

  • One shade will not respond while the others work
  • Shade stops partway or reverses on its own
  • Batteries die quickly or the shade runs sluggish
  • Remote or app lost the shade, or shades are out of sync
  • Motor hums, clicks or makes noise but does not move the shade

Fallen, Stuck & Crooked Shades

Brackets pull out of drywall, headrails pop loose and shades jam. It looks dramatic, but it is often an easy repair when someone comes out to look at it.

We reseat and re-secure shades and brackets, free stuck mechanisms, straighten crooked shades and get them operating normally again.

Signs you need this repair

  • Shade or headrail fell off the window
  • Bracket pulled out of the wall or trim
  • Shade is jammed and will not go up or down
  • Roller shade will not roll evenly or telescopes to one side
  • Cellular, Roman or woven shade folds unevenly

Blind, Shade & Shutter Repair

Not every problem is a Hunter Douglas problem, and not every problem is on that list. If you have a blind, shade or shutter that is not working right, tell us what it is doing.

We repair most common styles, including horizontal blinds, vertical blinds, cellular (honeycomb) shades, roller shades, Roman shades, woven shades and shutters. If we cannot help with something, we will tell you straight.

Signs you need this repair

  • Vertical blind vanes will not rotate or traverse
  • Shutter louvers or tilt rod are loose or broken
  • Headrail, valance or hardware has come loose
  • Blind or shade works but sticks, catches or squeaks
  • Something else is wrong and you are not sure what it is

Not sure? Text a photo and we will tell you what we think.
